International Solar Alliance (ISA)


The International Solar Alliance was launched at the COP21 in Paris in 2015 by India and France. It is a coalition of countries dedicated to the promotion of solar energy.

As guided by the Framework Agreement of the ISA, objectives of the institution include the mobilization of investments into solar energy technologies of more than USD 1000 billion by 2030 and coordinated action to address key challenges to the roll out of solar energy utilization and applications.
