Alliance against Impunity
The Alliance against Impunity seeks to ensure that perpetrators of the most serious crimes under international law are brought to justice. It combines efforts to defend and strengthen the system of international criminal justice. This includes support for the International Criminal Court (ICC), which plays a key role in prosecuting war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity at the international level. Other international and hybrid criminal courts which have been established for the adjudication of crimes committed in various (inter)national contexts also form part of the international criminal justice system. The initiative also promotes the project of an international convention on the prevention and punishment of crimes against humanity. It is further dedicated to the support of international investigative mechanisms, which collect evidence for subsequent criminal prosecution by domestic authorities or international courts.
